According to the guideline on promoting energy storage technology and industry development released by the national development and reform commission,relevant work will be carried out in two stages in the next 10 years.During the 14th five-year plan period,the transformation from commercialization to large-scale development was realized.The introduction of the guidance on energy storage industry indicates that China's energy storage industry is moving from demonstration project to commercial application.

　　Energy storage technology is a key technology to realize large-scale access to renewable energy and improve the efficiency,safety and economy of the power system.It is also an effective means to improve the power generation ratio of clean energy and promote haze control.By the end of 2015,the world's total installed energy storage capacity was about 167GW,accounting for about 2.9 percent of the world's total installed electricity capacity.China's installed energy storage capacity is 22.8GW,accounting for about 1.7%of the country's total installed power capacity.It is estimated that by 2050,China's installed energy storage capacity will reach 200GW,with a market size of more than 2 trillion yuan.

　　In recent years,with the rapid growth of lithium ion batteries in electric vehicles,3C and other fields,the overall production and market scale of lithium ion batteries in the world have been rapidly increased.In 2015,the total global production of lithium-ion batteries reached 100.75GWh,up 39.45%year-on-year.From 2005 to 2015,the global lithium battery market size increased from$5.6 billion to$22.1 billion,with a compound annual growth rate of 14.7%.The global lithium battery market is expected to reach 36.3 billion us dollars in 2020,which will continue to maintain a high level.
